Chapped Lips is a four-piece alternative rock band based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Fronted by Sam Kaffine on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, with Slater Gutierrez on vocals and lead guitar, Zach Schroeder on bass, and Jonah Mueller on drums.

The group originated in Sheboygan, Wisconsin — first meeting in their high school jazz band. After jamming in their basements for years, the four first hit the stage in 2019, self-recorded and released their first EP “I Am” in 2020, and followed it up with their debut album “Sorry I’m Late” in 2022.

Since moving to Milwaukee in 2022, Chapped Lips has quickly grown their audience, thanks in part to their high energy performances and frequent shows. “These busybodies are hustling” - Will Herman for Wrath and Love Magazine.

In July of 2023, the band opened one of Milwaukee's music scene’s most iconic shows of the year, “Homie Fest” in the bowl at Four Seasons Skate Park. The show, featuring local bands Bug Moment, Excuse Me Who Are You, Garden Home, and Honey Creek, helped to raise $1000 for Milwaukee’s LGBT community center.

The group wrapped up 2023 with their first release as a Milwaukee based band, “Home for the Holidays”, a packed show with Milwaukee icons Diet Lite, and spent time impersonating Chicago’s own Totally Cashed during their sabbatical in Montana.

Next up in 2024 is Chapped Lips’ first tour and recording new music. Upon completing their tour they’ll be opening the largest local show of the summer at The Rave for local bands Diet Lite, Modern Joey, and The Keystones.
